No. You can shorten links from the home page without signing up.
An account does unlock a few things, though: managing your links in one place, changing where they point after the fact, viewing click reports, and creating QR codes and bio pages.
Links created without an account still work, but they will not appear in any dashboard. That means you cannot edit them or see their statistics later.
